Brow Lift

Esteemed Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery in men is never the same as that in women. The art of plastic surgery for men is to maintain a masculine look while rejuvenating the face and body. Unfortunately, this is often overlooked by most other plastic surgeons leading to unnatural results. When you work with Dr. Sayah as his Beverly Hills plastic surgery practice, the ideal male look is achieved and treated as a specialization.*

When we speak to others, we always look into their eyes, making the appearance of the eyes extremely important in any plans to achieve a younger appearance.

The brow in a man is ideally positioned at the superior orbital rim, which is the upper edge of the orbit or eyeball socket. As we age, the eyebrow often droops leading to heavy eyelids and hooding, or the appearance of excess skin at the upper eyelids. It creates a tiered look with sleepy eyes.

A Wide Range of Solutions

There are several brow lift techniques, each with its strength and weaknesses. The most important variable in choosing the ideal technique for you would depend on your hairline. Many men have receding hairlines as they age. We have to be sure to hide any scars within your scalp, and a receding hairline will obviously determine the ideal location of your scars, and therefore the brow lift technique.*

Endoscopic Brow Lift

In men with normal hairlines, the endoscopic brow lift is preferred. The small incisions and resulting scars are hidden in the hair bearing scalp, and the eyebrows are lifted under visualization using very thin lenses called endoscopes. Special sutures are used to keep the brow in its more youthful position.*

This technique not only lifts the brows, but also lengthens the forehead, so those with tall foreheads or receding hairlines would unfortunately see their hairline pulled even further up.

For Men with Receding Hairlines

In such men with mild receding hairlines, small incisions at the temporal area or corners of the forehead just at the hairline is preferred. With this technique, the brow is lifted and the hairline actually brought further down to improve the aged, receding hairline.*

The Coronal Lift

The last technique, which many believe to be antiquated and fraught with complications, is a coronal lift. The incision in this procedure is from ear to ear across the top of the head, hence the term “coronal,” stemming from crown. This technique definitely raises the brows but leads to significant raising of the hairline and hair loss in front of the incision.

It is also associated with other potential complications such as numbness at the scalp, which can be uncomfortable, because you won’t feel your hair as you’re brushing for instance. The technique is reserved for special circumstances after long discussions of all brow lift options.

Additional Facial Procedures

Other associated facial procedures you may wish to consider with your brow lift include:

  • Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
  • Facelift
  • Neck Lift
  • Laser Resurfacing
  • Fat Grafting
